Narrative Therapy Certificate Program

Now accepting applicants for 2010-2011

Guest speakers Lorraine Hedtke and Gary Schoener

What is Narrative Therapy?

A set of ethically-based and innovative practices recognizing that people use narratives to make meaning of their lives.

People are the experts of their own lives.
The person is not the problem (the problem is the problem.)
The process is collaborative, with the therapist being influential yet
de-centered.
Issues of culture, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, economics, etc are honored.

Who Should Attend?

The Certificate Program is relevant to psychologists, social workers, clergy, medical professionals, educators and counselors. We encourage people to attend the Open House on September 23rd at 6:00pm for more information.

The Certificate Program has:

A Unique Learning Experience

This 9-month program is a unique learning experience, providing workshops that focus on principles of narrative therapy and separate small group sessions for participants to practice applying these principles to their own work.
Relevant Topics

Workshops focus on important topics, applying narrative principles to complex issues including trauma, mindfulness, ethics, and work with children, families and couples.

Clear Obtainable Results

Participants completing the course will be able to confidently apply narrative principles to their work while gaining a supportive consultation network. Graduates are provided with the
opportunity for further study in a Level II course. In addition, CEU's are accumulated throughout the program with each workshop attendance.

A Manageable and Flexible Schedule

Our structure provides for flexibility by allowing participants extra time to complete the course, if necessary. Full-day workshops and half-day small groups each meet once monthly, recognizing the busyness of people’s lives.
